From a Victoria Local Council Councillor on Facebook;
Almost all councils across Victoria will be releasing their “Animal management plan” for community consultation before its finalised by first week of March. Please call your councils and request for a copy to be sent to your email, and then write to the councillors/concerned department about what you would like to see in the Animal management Plan. It would be nice to hear the response/feedback on how this works for you at your council. Please encourage as many residents as you can from your local council to get involved so we can try and achieve more humane treatment of our pets through council managed services.
Does your local council currently contract to a high-kill facility? Phone them and ask for their Domestic Animal Management Plans (send to me too, yeah? [email protected]). This is your chance to get involved for pets.
