Kathy is one of the so-called ‘evil pit bull owners’ caught up in Victoria’s BSL laws.
Please read this article and understand that many, many, many people, of all walks of life, own dogs who happen to meet the visual criteria for what Victorian legislation now says a ‘pit bull’ is.
Kathy’s dog Baby has spent months in a pound while Kathy fought to save her life. The pressure on Kathy from authorities would have been enormous and at any time she could have simply given up and gotten another dog. But she didn’t – that’s the kind of owner she is.
And thanks to Kathy’s love, Baby has been saved.
This dog never hurt, or threatened to hurt anyone. All of those thousands of dollars to seize and prosecute her – which could have been put towards programs proven to make the community safer – has been wasted.
These are the kinds of people hurt by these laws. These are the dogs losing their lives by these laws.
BSL is bad for the community.
