Just when you think they’ve got all the cake, they go and take some more.
The Lost Dogs Home are celebrating some bully breed owners.
No really…
Louise and Kane had been thinking of getting a second dog for a little while. They already had a lovely brindle Staffy called Martha, and thought that she would really enjoy a canine companion as much as they would love to give another shelter dog a loving home.
They had just finished moving, but once settled in their new place they began to watch dogs on the Home’s website, which is where they came across handsome Bromley. Louise said that she knew instantly ‘he was the one’. She said that it was his gorgeous face that they fell in love with and when they came in to meet him, it was clear that he would be the perfect addition to their family.
She said that Bromley came straight up to the front of his pen to meet them and they, along with the staff at the Home, could see his kind and sweet nature shining through. Martha also took a shine to young Bromley and like Louise and Kane seemed happy to take the Staffy cross home with her. Both Louise and Kane have time off until mid January during which they will devote lots of time to settling Bromley into their home and helping the new siblings get to know each other.

Now Bromley is one only a handful of bully breeds that make it onto the Lost Dogs Home adoption floor each year. And this is how his adoption advert on the LDH website began…
“Bromley looks like the kind of dog you might avoid…”
Thankfully, this family looked beyond this, and still adopted him.
The real sad part of this story, is that a ‘lovely’ mixed-breed ‘brindle staffy’ like this family’s other dog Martha, would never be offered for adoption by the Dogs Home. She looks too much like a ‘pit bull type’ – the kind of dog the CEO of the Lost Dogs Home wants to see removed from their loving families and killed.
Ironically, this celebration of Louise and Kane’s adoption shows that the people that love bull breeds are just like any other dog owner, rather than the delinquent masses as the LDH would have you believe.
Shame on you Lost Dogs Home for your pro-kill stance on bully breeds and for your efforts to generate community hatred towards these dogs and their owners. Shame on you.
