Pets Paradise has hit the wall…
A national chain of 62 pet accessory stores run by a self-styled “leader of franchising” has collapsed.
Pets Paradise was founded by Melbourne-based Gary Diamond about 20 years ago, taking the concept from a single store to a national chain of 80 stores, according to franchise disclosure documents.
Banks yesterday appointed Deloitte Restructuring Services as receivers of the wider group of 20 companies to protect and recover the bank’s debt – by selling the business.
….
“The group’s financial distress has largely been caused by underperforming company operated stores and significant rental exposures from store closures over the last 18 months,” said (Receiver Tim Norman)
….
The group has 170 staff across its operations and runs 62 stores under the Pets Paradise, Pet Goods Direct and Pets R Fun brands.
After being exposed for distributing parvo infected puppies, using the good name of rescue groups to sell extra product, collecting donations from sick kids to treat their sick pups, and with such welfare faux pas as the ‘iPond’, I’ll just take this opportunity to say… good riddance.
Unbelievably ecstatic that PP’s demise is so close.
Lets hope no one saves them . .
Great to see Karma has finally caught up with them. Profiting from the suffering of animals is just abhorrent.
I was so happy to hear they are going under, they sre so eveil to animals and its justice well overdue!
I am soooo glad that justice is done. And agree with Lou. It’s Karma baby, all the way to the bank. Now, lets just see all others get taken down too. Good work to the public for all the exposure about puppy mills :) Lets get a dominoe effect happening to ensure that the stores go down, then with lack of demand, so will these horrendous puppy mills.
It seems that their business model has failed. Too bad soooo sad. Serves you right for lying to your customers and causing untold suffering to puppy farm/kitten farm breeding animals everywhere. Where’s the champagne?
