Unbelievable. Innocent victims of ignorance, discrimination and stupidity. These two are most certainly like no Pitbulls I’ve ever seen, but thats beside the point. My thoughts go out to their owners, I’ve had to put a bully of mine to sleep, but that was ultimately my choice. This is just terrible.

What did this happen? why did the government have these beautiful dogs put down that’s soo shameful. The government should pay compo and stop shit like this so it don’t happen to other people.

I am absolutely shocked. These two dogs are so nbelievably beautiful I cannot begin to try to imagine what the owners must be going through. Government should be ashmamed in them selves. This is terrible! My deepest sympathies to the owners, you should never have been forced into this… Aust Govt, you heartless bunch of morons!! Not all dogs are vicious killers but clearly the Aust Govt is!!

What can I say so so wrong. I can not imagine what their owners are going through

Those poor boys did not deserve this. They did absolutely nothing to be labeled dangerous other then being born looking a certain way. Pitbull or no Pitbull, a dogs demeanure is based on how he is raised and his past experiences, we as humans are 100% responsible for this, so if a dog is in fact dangerous, persecute the owner not the dog.

Anyone with a decent soul knows this is morally bankrupt and sooo sooo wrong. I used to be a proud Australian and Victoria, now I’m ashamed to live where laws legalising Hitler-style persecution are in place. Disgusting. And, by the way, don’t just blame the Lost Dogs Home, the RSPCA has also publicly supported BSL, and anyone who doesn’t know anything about BSL would think that the RSPCA acts FOR animal welfare, so therefore BSL is the right thing. Phooey! I hope they’re all living in fear of the karma bus (or in their case, Mac truck) – they should be!

You drill into us that racism against humans is wrong. Why is acceptable to discriminate against dogs because of the way they look? What is Australia coming to? BAN THE DEED *NOT* THE BREED.

Put and end to your Bull S*** Law.

id like to return the fav to the heartless person who made this happen and take one of there loved one and put them down just cause they look like a feral or wearing the wrong colour my heart goes out to the owners and my thoughts are with the pups it is wrong for any one to judge a dog for no home reason you should not judge a breed either

I am absolutely disgusted at these thoughtless, heartless a*** who take a life without any remorse and with absolutely no reason too. My heat goes out to the unfortunate families of these poor babies which had their lives ended far too soon. All I can say is I severely hope these people that kill these puppies or authorise it get what’s deservingly coming to them.

To Kiran, you are so so correct in what you say.

To the owners, I am so sorry for what has happened to your beautiful babies and my deapest condolences to you.

To those who have the power to make this sort of decision, shame on you please do yourself a favour and educate yourselves as to why and what causes a dog to be dangerous.

Unspeakable actions by uneducated bastards. When you consider how many children are maimed, or killed by their own parents it seems unjust to kill these innocent dogs for NO reason…arent we hypocrites

This should not have happened in a country that claims itself as a DEMOCRACY….home of FREEDOM, OF ONE’S RIGHTS!!! This act represents TYRANNY….DISGUSTING…

Last week our very sick girl was put to sleep in our arms – it was absolutely heartbreaking. We can’t imagine the pain this family must be going through right now after they’ve had to watch their TWO beautiful, healthy pups, with no history of aggressive be so wrongly taken from them. Many people have shared tears with Bear & Kooda’s family today.

Shame on the VIC government, Moira Council & Lost Dogs home. History will judge you harshly.

This is the biggest bullshit ever I will haunt this government for the rest of their life’s. They should be concentrating on bigger issues like rape, murders, etc, instead of running peoples life’s like this and telling them what dog breed to home, it’s the same as having your children put down for doing absolutely nothing at all. STOP this BSL and get a life you stupid ignorant asses.

Our service men and women who have died protecting our demorcracy would be horrified at what we have become. How can a third tier of government have so much power against an innocent animal without a right of appeal. The owners so loving and caring, where were the Geoffery Robertson QCs of the world who could have stepped in pro bono and easily challenged what was a council bylaw without susbtance and sound legal basis. This bylaw is abbhorent and should be recsinded without delay. Senior counsels stand up and be counted what is next!!
Having a single loving animal, I would flee to the desert rather than let the authorities touch my dog but these people had faith in democracy and it let them down. WHy1 Why! Why didnt the local member state and federal intervene?

  29. Danni | June 15, 2012 | Permalink

they don’t even look like Pitt bulls they look more like staffies. I say a shame to those that put them down and my condolences to the owners you were wronged by the government/council.

I would say that those who are responsible for this cruel act should rot in hell, but hell would be too good for them. My deepest condolences to the owners who were robbed of their sweet fur friends. May Bear and Kooda find peace and friendship on the Rainbow Bridge. Australia will never see a cent from me or my family until this senselessness ends.

I to this day cannot understand how humans think they have the right to decide who/what lives and who/what dies. These are living, breathing beings. They have never hurt anyone, yet we leave fellow humans to rape, maim, murder day by day and little to nothing is done? Perhaps it is time we start looking internally – if we are not willing to “put down” those humans that actually DO harm, how can we condone putting an innocent animal down for something that we ASSUME it MAY do? Shame on us humans – we are the lowest of the low in the animal kingdom, weak, spineless bullies!

  32. Deb | June 15, 2012 | Permalink

This is wrong on too many fronts to explain. My heart goes out to Bear and Kooda’s Mum and Dad, because they lost 2 fur babies today for no reason other than they were supposedly the wrong breed – or should that be, the wrong colour or, the wrong religion?

RIP Bear and Kooda, there will be many working to ensure that you didn’t lose your lives in vain.

My condences to their family, cannot comprehend how you’re feeling, regards Deb xx

As anyone can obviously tell by the pictures, these Priceless Animals were Loved and Gave Love. Evil is a boomerang that always returns to the doer. May all those who murdered these Precious Innocents receive the same treatment!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you happy now Graeme Smith of The Lost Dogs Home and your hopeless mates in the government??? Your termanology of ‘if it looks like a pit bull, it is a pit bull’ is causing untold misery and grief and the murder of beautiful, dearly loved dogs who have NEVER misbehaved. It is an outrage and it must be stopped!

R.I.P. sweet innocent Bear and Kooda ? you are both now free from the inhumanity of man and take some comfort in the knowledge that you are not alone; you are in good company, and all the other innocent victims of this disgusting and atrocious “BS” Law are there waiting to greet you.

I am so ashamed to be part of the Human Race right now!

My heart aches for the owners of these dogs. How stupid, stupid, stupid. What’s next?? How many other dogs are now going to die because of wrong breed identification, or because a breed is deemed dangerous.

This is moronic, this is stupid!!!

I have cried buckets for these dogs. German shepherds, use to be the targets, now so called pitt bull look alikes, (get your breeds straight) also why pick on pitt bulls? It is the OWNERS, THE OWNERS of any dog that is at fault.

Bad owners can equal bad dog, not matter what brred large or small.

    How dare ANYONE Play god!!

VICTORIAN GOVERMENT HANG YOU HEAD IN SHAME.

THE COUNCIL WHO DID THIS – HAND YOU HEAD IN SHAME

THE PERSON WHO WRONGLY IDENTIFIED THESE DOGS – HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME, AND NEVER, NEVER, EVER LOOK UP!

This is discraceful!!! I have been in the veterinary industry for 11 years and i am educated enough to see that these 2 beautiful dogs do not look like pitt bulls at all! Anybody that has been in my industry knows that they always have a red/pink nose with yellow eyes! They clearly look like bull mastiff x staffies! This council should be ashamed and someone that has not been in the animal industry should not be able to make these decisions… Something needs to happen to whoever did this! So sad :-(

I am so sorry for your loss guys.
I am gobsmacked on how anyone could justify this action on INNOCENT animals.
I just shake my head in disgust and dismay and hope and pray that the protesting eventually gets this law overturned. Unfortunately that wont take away your pain tho.
So many ppls thoughts are with you.

OMG!!!! those dogs are not pitpulls!!! how dense can people be for F*** sake!!! they look like my olf dog and she was a staffi boxer x. they show no resemblance to a pitbull in my opinion.
Im truly saddened by this injustice and my heart goes out to the owners, im truly sorry for your loss. i dont think i could stand it if that happened to my dog. my heart breaks just thinking about it as i look at her now sleeping at my feet.
I understand that the government wants people to be safe but to faulsy accuse people of having dangerous dogs and then destroying them is absolutely DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!! its just not good enough

MURDER! This is Murder plain and simple. The dogs did nothing wrong at all and you killed them anyway just because of how they looked. Bravo idiots with your dum ass laws of Death. Whats next are you going to go with Hitler’s idea and kill of everyone that didn’t fit in with his master race? Breed Laws like this are nothing short then well racist but hell they don’t care because to them animals are just property and have no individuality or rights. I hope your very proud of yourselves for the murder you have taken part in and the lives you have destroyed. For everyone in that area get these assholes out of office and demand that these unjust laws are abolished. These acts of MURDER CAN NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO ON.

Remember Evil only flourishes when good people do nothing.

To the families of the victims my prayers are with you.
