The Argus newspaper reported in 1914 that, in its first year of operation, 906 dogs that were not reclaimed by their owners, or were hopelessly sick or injured, were killed in the lethal chamber. That equates to approximately 85% of all dogs admitted to the Home, a precedent that was to become the modus operandi of the Home for the next 100 years.
Lost Dogs Home Reform
Seems nothing has changed. Whilst Councils continue to use LDH as their contact for lost pets and the public are constantly led by a false advertising campaign, this facility is never going to change. It once called itself a not-for-profit organisation and yet what was the last 3 years “PROFITS”? The CEO gets paid how much? Euthanised animal figures are still how high?
The public need to be re-educated.
The councils need to stop there connection.
People need to know !!!
