The RSPCA has informed Gloucester Shire Council that there is no animal welfare case to answer following the shooting of 11 dogs (including 5 puppies), leaving their bodies unburied at the rubbish tip in July.
“RSPCA NSW inspectors have concluded their inquiries in relation to the complaint regarding the euthanasia of dogs at the local tip,” Mr Coleman said in a letter to council general manager Danny Green.
“As a result, I can also confirm that we have found no grounds to take any action … against the local ranger, nor the Gloucester Shire Council.”
But not only did they not have grounds to prosecute the council officer, but they deemed fit to give him an award;
“Having learned of council’s re-homing and reconnecting statistics in relation to companion animal management, I can confirm that relative to other municipalities around the State, Gloucester Shire Council is doing very well,” Mr Coleman said.
“This is one of the reasons the ranger was recently awarded with a certificate of appreciation by our organisation at the council ranger annual conference.”
You heard right – shoot the community’s pets and dump their bodies, get held up as a model operation and an award from the RSPCA.
Remember folks, these are our ‘animal welfare leaders’ who blame you for the killing.

Gloucester the tip of the abuse iceberg
While so many animal welfare/rescue groups work their hardest to improve the life of companion animals we come across not only a council ranger from the dark ages that still thinks its acceptable to “shoot” dogs and pup and then treat them as “rubbish” but this 3rd world behavior is rewarded by the RSPCA! SHAME ON YOU BOTH.
For both of these perhaps they don’t know the meaning of the he word “Euthanasia” it refers to the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering.
The correct word to use here is “KILL” Simply unbelievable that this has gone on!! disgusted !!
This is an absolute disgrace shame to all parties involved.
Typical of the ” boys club” syndrome in NSW animal ” welfare” groups. Everyone has skeletons in their closet and therefore need to cover each others backsides.
The public are slowly becoming aware of the true nature and disgraceful behavior of those leading these ” welfare” groups.
It is no wonder they refuse to work with RESCUE groups! Too much to hide!
ICAC investigation needs to start NOW!!!!
Sometime, things are so WRONG, that there are no words to discribe how you feel…..I truely am lost for words, (without swearing)…
I totally agree with Ann Ward. Lost for words is all I can say. Shameful.
The RSPCA is an absolute SHAME to this country…they are the epitome of hypocrisy!!
RSPCA
I f this is what it looks like than you will never receive donations from us here in colbinabbin Vic.
The RSPCA is all about money. That is all they care about.
Just confirms my thoughts for the RSPCA. Wrong in so many ways.
Shame, RSPCA.
