I see rescue groups – new ones just starting out, and ones who’ve been around for years – working for a common goal of saving lives.
I see small animal welfare organisation building enormous resources in the community; communicating with their supporters, volunteers and fellow rescues like never before.
I see the integrity that comes from having transparent and open communication, grassroots involvement and passionate people running the show.
I see the public rallying to help; to adopt, to foster, advocate, or simply just offer a little word of encouragement to the groups working so hard for pets.
I see the ‘little guy’ finding a voice and having a say in how companion animals are treated.
I see the impossible happening. The ‘unsavable’ saved. The ‘unwanted’ wanted. The community moving heaven and earth to make good things happen.
I see pounds proud to be meet No Kill goals by opening their doors. I see new relationships based on trust and respect being forged.
I see communities delighted that the way their pound treats pets, is something to be proud of.
I see strength in numbers.
I see those who refuse to embrace this culture of lifesaving becoming rapidly obsolete.
I see pet lovers united in a single mission – to see the end of convenience killing of companion animals in the pounds and shelters across Australia.
I see a No Kill future.
I guess I’m just lucky.
