It has become so obvious that once Hugh Wirth was finally gagged for his extreme and illogical views on any bull breed that Smith is the new anti bull breeds go to for comment media boy .How ever Smith is far more dangerous as he does not have anyone to answer / account for his views and actions.
Smith also has the largest microchip register in Victoria with the access from all those dogs details .He is raking in a fortune ,posting obscene profits in a govt sanctioned killing spree .

What is it with our government that they have to make up excuses to bring in a law to kill even more of our innocent animals. Not only do the create a “boogy man” around the word “pit bull” to get people on side they then thrown hundreds of thousands of tax payers dollar after this hideous lie. These people should be tarred and feathered for the riduculous people they are and so much for the experts in “pit bulls” who are the most evil of people going for their 10 minutes of glory on the backs of these innocent victims.
We do not need education of our people we need education of our politicians.

Fantastic summary of this deadly farce. It’d be wise for everyone who knows what LDH does to start referring to it as “Victoria’s largest pound” or the “Canine Killing Centre”.

Thank you for publishing what a lot of us have known and experienced with this dodgy law and LDH. I would also like to add, the condition some of the dogs who have been returned to their owners after being released from LDH, under court order, have been gravely ill, in dreadful condition. When owners have tried to question this, they are met with brick walls. LDH appear to think they are judge, jury and executioner, all rolled into one. They are not! The Government and LDH choose to ignore the advice and scientific proof that this system does not reduce dog attacks. In other places in the world where BSL has been in place for many years, these governments are now repealing these laws. Why does our Victorian Government and LDH persist with a proven failed system? Meanwhile, our tax dollar is funding this fraudulent law. Wake up Victoria.

I guess it is too much to expect we may one day have a system that works. From the attached link, “This approach helps facilitate a $5 million annual operating budget, which is generated through license and penalty revenues, with absolutely no cost to the taxpayer. Fees generated from cat licenses have provided the community of Calgary with a state of the art facility, staffed by a full-time vet, providing no-charge spay/neuter services for pets from low-income homes.”
